Today I am talking about ways to keep warm on your wedding day, if you are getting married over the next few months it can be quite cold, especially here in Scotland. I have gathered together my best ideas for keeping warm just for you lovely brides to be.

1 – A knitted jumper

There is nothing better than a cosy knitted jumper to keep you warm when its chilly outside so why not wear a cream or white one on your wedding day? This is great if you are having some pictures taken outside or if you are making the most of a dry day and having a fire pit or sparklers outside.

2 – A wedding coat

I am so in love with this painted denim jacket that my lovely bride Sabrina wore at her wedding this year. Its so fun and colourful just like her!

3 – Long sleeved dress

If you don’t want to wear anything on top of your dress but want to keep the chill out why not have long sleeves. Still beautifully bridal and traditional but helps to keep you warm.

4 – Warm drinks

I am so in love with mulled wine! As soon as it starts to get cold outside I switch from drinking a summery fruity wine to a mulled wine or cider to warm me up. Instead of serving bubble or a cocktail after your vows why not have a nice hot drink to keep everyone cosy!

5 – A shawl

How beautiful is my friend Erica and her wife Gemma. These tartan shawls kept them and their bridesmaids (including myself) nice and warm during their winter wedding. I felt that as well as keeping cosy we also looked great ha-ha. To see more images of this gorgeous wedding and to see some winter wedding inspiration why not have a read of this blog post.

6 – Knitted Scarf

Scarfs are a great way to keep you warm, especially knitted ones. This is a great idea to keep you cosy in-between photos outside and can be whipped off quickly for a beautiful image to be taken of you in your dress.

7 – Lace gloves

I always have cold hands so when the weather gets colder I love wearing gloves. My favourite are leather gloves, however if you want to look a little more traditional and bridal you can go for a pair of lace gloves.
