With traditional weddings decreasing, boho weddings are on the up. The Cambridge Dictionary states that the definition of Bohemian is “a person who is interested in art, music, and/or literature, and lives in a very informal way, ignoring the usually accepted ways of behaving”. A Bohemian wedding can be whatever you want to make of it, it can be unconventional, artistic, free spirited and informal.

Whether your hair is up, down or a combo of both, loose hairstyles are the best for a boho wedding. Tight and sleek styles have no place here, just gentle soft beautiful flowing locks.

I am so in love with wildflowers at boho weddings. A bouquet that looks like you have gathered it from a field is just beautiful. Don’t overthink it too much, go for some greenery and find a florist who can create a relaxed wildflower bouquet for you.

Handmade cake

I love handmade wedding cakes. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and has so much more meaning when someone you know has made it. Here is my brother and his wife’s wedding cake which I baked and hand painted with wildflowers. It was a huge task but I was so happy with it once it was done.

I love a good sign. My house is covered in them, the kitchen especially. I just love telling people what’s on offer, what’s going on, and what room it is. Signs at weddings are great. You can get personalised signs or just grab a chalk board and write them yourself. Write the timings for the day, write a thank you or even write to let people know what you want them to do.
