I hope you are well and enjoying your wedding planning. I am so, so excited as when this blog goes live I will be on holiday in New York. I am scheduling a few posts so that I still have blogs going live every Monday and Thursday while I am on holiday for you all. The reason I am going to New York is because my lovely cousin Bobbi is marrying her fiancé Mathew at the Top of the Rock! I honestly cannot wait. My boyfriend (Jon Boy) has never been to America before so he is really excited too!
Today’s blog post has been requested by quite a few brides so I have been looking forward to writing it. This is my 10 great gifts for the father of the bride and groom.
Father of the bride/ groom gifts
1 – Engraved watch
The experts at World of Watchcraft say, “The relationship between father and daughter/ father and son is timeless, and what better way to celebrate that than with the gift of time on one of the most precious days. Our timepieces provide a personal, loving message and memory that can be worn forever more.”

2 – Personalised glass or mug

3 – Voucher for a night away
A night or two at a local lodge with hot tub or even a nearby city for a fun break. A night away is always fun and relaxing and makes the perfect gift for the father of the bride or groom.
4 – Engraved hip flask/ glass/ decanter
If your dad is a beer man get him a special engraved beer mug. If he loves whiskey what about a crystal decanter, or for any other spirit a personalised hip flask is amazing.
5 – Meal at his favourite restaurant
Going out for a meal is always such a nice treat. Sometimes life can get in the way and we totally forget to take some time to treat ourselves, so why not spoil the dads with vouchers for their favourite places to eat.
6 – Bottle of his favourite spirit/ wine
Who doesn’t love getting a nice bottle of gin, liqueur or their favourite wine. My dad is not a big drinker but when he does he loves Amaretto. If I buy him a bottle for his birthday he will just be finishing it off in time for his next birthday!
7 – Cufflinks
When I am working at a wedding there is always someone who has forgotten cufflinks, so what about a practical gift for the fathers of the bride and groom. You can get personalised ones or even cute little characters.
8 – Pocket watch
I just love pocket watches, they are wonderful gifts and are perfect for wearing at special occasions. They go perfectly with a suit or kilt so can be worn on the wedding day and they can use it to help keep people on time.
9 – Voucher for a Turkish shave
It’s not just the ladies that like to be pampered. Treat the dads to a Turkish shave where they can have their beard shaped and trimmed or all facial hair removed. This is such a relaxing experience and is great for the morning of the wedding or as a voucher for later.
10 – A gift for his favourite sport
A dart board, new golf club or even a season ticket for his favourite football club. If there is a sporting event he would love to go to then why not get tickets?
