It’s not exactly a secret that I love Urban Decay. A huge amount of my bridal wedding kit and personal makeup is Urban Decay products. I just love everything about this brand, they are cruelty free, always have strong women in their advertising campaigns, and all of their products are amazing. Today I am talking about the De-Slick oil control makeup setting spray.
I have very dry skin that often gets dehydrated so I am always using moisturisers and face serums to counteract this. (Click here to read my blog on the Kiehl’s skincare I use). That being said, when I wear makeup I do get oily/ shiny patches throughout the day that drive me crazy. If I go on a night out dancing then by the end of the night my face is ultra shiny and my makeup has started to slide off.
To counteract this I have started using De-Slick spray and I love it. The Urban Decay De-Slick oil control makeup setting spray is just fantastic. It helps to control oily skin and holds your makeup in place all day. All you have to use is 3 or 4 sprays on your face in an X and T motion to set your makeup. You can even spray some onto your eyeshadow brush to get a long-lasting eye makeup look.
I use this setting spray on my wedding clients, and if a bride has extra oily skin I even do a few sprays before her makeup is applied, then again after.
Here I applied my makeup at the start of the day ready for a day’s working. I used De Slick setting spray to set the foundation and then did emails, a few clients makeup then walked in the cold to the shops (which made my eyes water), went home to take my dog on a quick walk, did some hair and makeup clients then took another picture. The only makeup that I touched up was my lipstick which rubbed off whilst eating my lunch.
Here is the picture I took at the end of my work day. As you can see my makeup is still looking great with 8 hours wear time. My skin doesn’t look greasy which is exactly what I wanted. It is still in place and practically hasn’t moved. The only thing is I do have a little bit of mascara bleeding under my eyes from where they watered in the wind and a smudge where my glasses sit on my nose (this happens regardless).
I rate this product 4 out of 5 hearts.
Have you tried this or any of the other Urban Decay setting sprays, if so which ones did you like? Do you have any other setting spray recommendations? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
